Seasonal Flowers and Beautiful Scenery
Each season brings a different character to Kame-no-hara Waterfowl Park. In spring, cherry blossoms bloom along the walking paths, creating a picturesque setting for a leisurely walk.
In early summer, thousands of azalea plants bloom along a walking trail stretching for approximately 1 kilometer. Pink, red, and white flowers create a colorful corridor known locally as a “Flower Path.” The sight of the flowers in full bloom is one of the park’s seasonal highlights.
Near the water, Japanese irises and other iris flowers bloom gracefully, adding further color to the pond landscape. Visiting at different times of the year allows travelers to experience a changing combination of flowers, greenery, and water.
Birdwatching and Encounters with Nature
The pond is surrounded by a peaceful forest of Japanese cedar trees, providing a natural habitat for a variety of wild birds. Visitors can enjoy birdwatching while walking along the paths and listening to the sounds of the surrounding forest.
Several dozen spot-billed ducks also live within the park, allowing visitors to observe waterfowl at close range. The combination of the pond, forest, flowers, and birds makes the park an enjoyable destination for anyone who wants to experience nature at a relaxed pace.
A Relaxing Place for Families
Kame-no-hara Waterfowl Park also features playground equipment and an observation area, making it a pleasant place for families traveling with children. The calm surroundings provide plenty of opportunities to take a break, explore the natural environment, and enjoy time together outdoors.
